Have you considered going to a fortuneteller?

I heard a very interesting story today, a story about woman who went to a fortuneteller, a young beautiful woman who just tied the knot to a bright young man who is an aspiring politician.

As the story goes, this woman went out of her way to go to a known fortuneteller. She was accommodated and entertained by an elderly woman who introduced herself as the person she came to see. Details and small talk aside, they immediately got down to business – her future and all that it holds.

She was told that her husband was going to perish, and water was going to be the element and the main culprit in his demise. Fearing her husband was going to drown, she made all the necessary arrangements and precautions to keep him away from water. She was not as paranoid when it came to showers and personal hygiene. But traveling and any form of water sports was strictly prohibited.

Her husband, just like her, was young and full of life. He was harboring political ambitions, to be the town’s mayor was his dream. Belonging to a family of humble beginnings, this dream was one of his most cherished possessions. He engaged in activities to promote his name in pursuit of his aspirations. He became well known and well liked.

One morning, he decided to take a walk on the beach. Their town was replete with beautiful scenery, its splendor was undeniable. It was a casual walk, a lackadaisical stroll, a saunter to help clear the mind. The young woman thought her husband needed break from the stress of politics. Knowing that he had no plans to get into the water, she willingly obliged his request and allowed him to go. The man kissed his beautiful wife and bid her adieu.

He traversed the meandering road going to the beach, after a few minutes, he was welcomed by the charm and serenity of the shore. He took to the sand, happy and content at this moment. His mind wandered about, sailing through his concerns and contemplating his plans for the future. As he went about his stroll, little did he know that shadows stalked his steps. Men of evil intentions. As his feet grazed the water, three shots rang out! B A N G ! B A N G ! B A N G ! He viciously slumped to the ground, his body lifeless even before it hit the sand. He fell like a big tree, his life truncated of all his promise and potential. The callous bullets made its way through his body and took his life without remorse, only following the wicked will of the men who pulled the trigger. In minutes all his dreams and aspirations were washed away as the water touched his body. His wife widowed only days after their wedding day.
